Why We Pray
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 19:14, ESV) Scottish preacher Dr. William Philip gives this wonderful illustration about the Christian’s position in prayer. “The story is told that one-day President John F Kennedy was in the oval office in a meeting with VIPs and leaders. Pray and Pray
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matt 6:6, ESV) I have been incredibly encouraged by speaking with many of you over the past few weeks about wanting to have a deeper prayer life. This is certainly something that the true disciples of Jesus Christ want, a greater intimacy with our Heavenly Father through the Holy Spirit. Read more
